CCRC Exec. Committee Removes Elected Treasurer

By Elisha Dorfsmith

UPDATE: Due to a cease and desist letter from the lawyer of Joy Staveley, I have posted updates, clarifications and retractions as requested. Those are in bold.

Breaking:

(This post has been updated from it’s original version)

It seems the Coconino County Republican Committee no longer has a treasurer! People are disappearing from the website and as an elected Republican Precinct Committeeman, nobody in the CCRC leadership ever contacted me about these actions.

According to reports from a credible source who wishes to remain confidential, the CCRC Exec Committee recently held a secret meeting and illegally voted to strip Ray Jordan of his elected treasurer position. *State GOP officials have explained to my source that CCRC Chair Joy Staveley accused Ray Jordan of misconduct and used that as her basis for removing him from office.”

*My sources were Ray Jordan and Drake Mitchell. I also have a copy of the Police Report. The police report filed with the Flagstaff Police Department says “Joy stated that due to questionable actions by Raymond she called for a vote to have Raymond removed.”

As I clearly stated above, the CCRC Exec Committee held the meeting and voted to remove Ray. I retract the statement that Joy removed him from office. I never meant to suggest that she acted alone. But the police report says that it was clearly her idea and she was part of the Executive Committee vote to remove him.

One major problem with this, CCRC bylaws clearly state that the removal of an elected officer can only be done with a vote by the total membership of elected precinct committeemen:

“Section 5: Removal of Officers: Any elective officer of the County Committee may be removed at any time by a vote to that affect by the membership of the County Committee, present or by proxy, at any meeting, provided that the total number of such votes cast constitutes a majority of the total membership of the County Committee.”

*I have also been told that Ray Jordan was fraudulently removed from the CCRC bank account and that Ms. Staveley changed the designee at the Secretary of State’s office from Mr. Jordan to herself.

*I posted this article while the story was breaking. This information is incorrect. Joy Staveley changed the designee to Dan Edel. I retract the statement that she changed the designee to herself.

*When Ms. Staveley contacted the State GOP to tell them that Mr. Jordan was no longer treasurer, she was told that she and the executive committee had overstepped their authority.

*Ray Jordan contacted me and told he that he had called the State GOP and they told him that Joy Staveley was told by State officials that she was overstepping her authority. Like most media, I report the information I am given by witnesses and credible sources. BUT, since I was not personally involved in this discussion and have no material proof, I will retract the above statement.

I will continue to update this post as I gather more details.

One of the purposes of this blog is to document corruption and followers of my blog know that the CCRC is one of the most corrupt organizations in Northern Arizona.

3-13-13 UPDATE: The above letter was sent certified mail to CCRC treasurer Ray Jordan demanding that he resign or be removed. The letter claims that Mr. Jordan has been “insubordinate” to the chair. (Click picture to enlarge).

The level of cheating, deception and fraudulent activity is ridiculous! Joey Staveley should resign on her own, but I’m sure it won’t happen. Vote her out next election!

It goes beyond well beyond club bylaws. Depending on actual events, it sounds like a violation of a number of state election laws. I think it is time for party officers to take those laws seriously.

    Oh, and…
Be sure to seriously scrutinize all interim bank account activity to see if there was any suggestion of impropriety as a motive for this course of Joy’s.
