Moving Forward With Flagstaff Liberty Alliance

By Elisha Dorfsmith

As many of you know, my wife and I spent the past year working very closely with the Republican party hoping that they would somehow embrace the message of liberty and focus on the Constitution and issues that are important to the American people. All of that changed today when the Coconino County Republican Committee elected new officers and made it clear that Ron Paul supporters are not welcome in leadership positions. So be it.

Last week I wrote that I always like to have a plan B in place and if things went poorly at the Coconino County Republican Committee statutory meeting I would focus all of my energy on Flagstaff Liberty Alliance. I am now very excited to say that all of the ideas and energy I planned to put into the Coconino County Republican party will now be used to further Flagstaff Liberty Alliance goals.

This means that Flagstaff Liberty Alliance will have a float in the Flagstaff 4th of July Parade, a booth at the Coconino County Fair and will conduct outreach at NAU and CCC. We will also focus a lot of energy on fundraising and increased membership goals. A lot of very exciting things are in store so please stay tuned.

Flagstaff Liberty Alliance meets on the third Thursday of each month.  Due to Christmas break, we will be holding our next monthly meeting at the Weatherford on January 17 at 5:30 PM. We will be meeting on the second floor (Mezzanine).

Food Freedom Ordinance

Our Food Freedom Ordinance is moving along nicely. We should have 400 signatures by February when we meet with officials from the Flagstaff City Council and Coconino County Board of Supervisors. If you would like to sign the ordinance petition please let us know.

Other News

Flagstaff Liberty Alliance and our Food Freedom Ordinance were recently featured in a project by NAU student Michael Guintard. I thought it turned out very well:

At our next meeting we will start planning our July 4th parade float.  As I was thinking about ideas tonight it reminded me of the Ron Paul float we put together a couple years ago. Here’s a picture of our group for those who missed it. We hope to do something just as big for Flagstaff Liberty Alliance next year.

Awesome, thank you so much for your tireless work to try to change the direction of the Republican party, our state and nation. I am very excited to here what you are doing as far as a plan B. I have learned a lot from our group in Coconino county. Bless you.

    Blessings in Liberty

sound great. I wish you the best in getting a true liberty group established in flag. I would like to attend but the weatherford posted a sign saying that I am not welcome.

Thanks Carl. We’re in the process of looking for a better location. Once we find one I will post it so everyone can attend.

See Peggy Noonan’s article in yesteday’s Wall Street Journal: It’s absurd that she calls for an authentic voice and new ideas after dismissing Ron Paul.
